Dangerous Bands In Safe Hands

Hello all

January has proved rather busy so far with five new screenprinted posters, an art print and other gubbins all going on at once. The latest to go off to the printers are this set of promotional posters for FIM - International Federation of Musicians (or Fédération Internationale des Musiciens in French hence FIM). These will be available at SXSW and also given out as postcards to encourage musicians to join their local musicans unions. Have a gander:

As the tag line 'Dangerous Bands In Safe Hands' suggests, FIM were interested in evoking a sort of propaganda/Home Front style poster. They wanted it bold and quick to read with a bit of humour in there for good measue. I've tried to blend a mix of Constructivist styles and the British wartime government warning posters and hope that comes across along with the message.

I will have copies of these available at Flatstock at SXSW as well as in my online shop mid March

'TATS' T-shirt and tattoo set

Hello Interworld! You are looking well, have you been away?

Anyways, this is a post that has been a long time coming but, finally, I am able to proudly announce the launch of my brand new t-shirt 'TATS' in all its stupid glory. BEHOLD:

We all love tattoos, right? Yes, of course we do. Well believe it or not I often get asked if I can design them for people, or folks send me images of one of my scrawls forever injected in ink-form under their pallid skin. Good for them! However it also got me thinking, wouldn't it benefit us all if there were a simple flash sheet for people to choose from with some of the best pictures that live inside my head? And wouldn't it be even better if this flash sheet where in t-shirt form? Well that's exactly what's gone and happened.

'TATS' is available in S, M, L and XL and in a limited run of 50 shirts, and as if that weren't enough each t-shirt comes with one of four sets of temporary tattoos based on the tee design to trick your friends and wow the ladies/gents of your dreams. Tattoo-licious!

You can get your 'TATS' t-shirt and temporary tattoo set from my online shop hither: http://lukedrozd.bigcartel.com/product/tats-t-shirt-and-tattoo-set

Enjoy!

And who knows, if you send me proof that you have actually got one of these things made all permanent on your body i may just send you something special in the post.

All the best

Luke

Hurray For The Riff Raff!

Hello online comrades

First off, a huge thanks to all who came down to Screenadelica in Liverpool. It was a great weekend filled with much fun, booze and hi-jinks. We hope to see you all same time next year.

Second off, I have a couple of new prints available for the rather wonderful Hurray For The Riff Raff, a folk/americana/rootsy bunch from New Orleans. If you've not heard them I recommend checking them out inside one of their virtual lairs here or here. The prints are currently available on their UK tour but if you can't/won't get to a show then they can also be obtained via my online purchasing palace here.

They come as individual prints, each with either a voodoo/mardi gras priest or priestess, or if you can't/won't choose, as a set. Enjoy!

Finally, a quick reminder that the opening for Posters Fo' Sho' is on Friday at Five Years in East London so hopefully see some of you virtual people in the actual flesh there. More info here

Bye!

QOTSA - Feel Good Print of the Summer

Hello all,

Just a quick blog post to mainly say that my Queens of the Stone Age poster is now available in my Online Capitalism Booth aka Dr. Drozd's Emporium of Paper Picture Sheets aka The Shop. There are precious few of these available from me so if you want one don't dilly-dally or dawdle before these doodles dwindle:

Qotsa

They are 3 colour screenprints, 63 x 45cm on good heavy stock and hand-printed by the wonderful Mark Pavey whom saved these at the eleventh hour from not being printed at all. Internet high-fives for Mark everyone. Ok, that's enough...

While you're here i'll also allow your peepers to gaze across a sample tee print i did a while back for the wholesome and wonderful folk at Monster Press. They now exist in the real world and not just inside my brain. If only that were true of the rest of the stuff in here. Here it is:

Keep your eyes on the prize!

Black Keys posters and goodies galore

(download)
Hello peoples!

I have finally got around to adding a few of the new prints to my websites shop as so they can now be purchased in time for Christmas/birthdays/weddings/funerals.

First up is the poster I designed for the recent Leeds, UK show by The Black Keys. I couldn't go but here it was blinding. Thought two runaway steers hurtling downhill out of control seemed to be a good visual metaphor for the bands sound. Hope you like it.

Also available are the two prints i produced for this years Flatstock Europe poster convention and Reeperbahn Festival. One is a Flatstock print of a sausage dressed as a chef riding a mustard bottle making it spurt all over the bloody shop, the other is a print for the amazing Silje Nes. The latter was a fantastic show and i suggest if you aren’t already aware of her music you become acquainted now: http://www.myspace.com/siljenes

All of these are available here: http://lukedrozd.bigcartel.com/

Also don’t forget that these and many other artists poster prints will be available at the Constellations Festival this Sunday in Leeds: http://posterroast.com/site/2010/09/13/constellations-festival/

Ta ta for now
