Hello Friends, well-wishers, acquaintances and enemies,

Just a reminder that everyone’s favourite arts collective, Black Dogs, will be having the opening for our show at MK Gallery, Milton Keynes, tomorrow evening, Thursday 9th December. It will be ace so i suggest you come along. Here's the info:

MK2morrow will run from December 9th - January 2nd at MK Gallery, 900 Midsummer Blvd, Milton Keynes MK9 3Q.

The exhibition is curated by Lost & Found. With kind support from Sign-A-Rama.

Join us on Thursday 9th December from 6pm - 9pm for the launch of our new exhibition 'MK2morrow: One Small Step for Milton Keynes'.

In partnership with Lost & Found, artist collective Black Dogs have transformed MK Gallery into a space for speculation on and discussion about Milton Keynes' past, present and future.

Join us for a drink in 'The Pub at the End of Universe'; the perfect environment in which to share stories, anecdotes, facts and fiction relating to Milton Keynes. Browse and contribute to the 'MK2 Survival Kit' that gathers together local skills and knowledge to be passed on to future inhabitants of the inhabitable planet of Gliese. Last, play architect and city-planner via the audience-generated 'Massive Tiny Space Colony' installation; a scale model of what the MK2 space colony might look like and the values it will uphold.

The MK2morrow Launch Night will take the form of a leaving do knees-up with music provided by the cream of Bletchley's DIY music scene; Hired Muscle and The Engineer. Plus space-themed refreshments.

Everyone welcome! More info and optional RSVP on Facebook:

Black Dogs new news, who knew(s)?

As some of you will know, in addition to the myriad other things i do, i also work with Leeds based art collective Black Dogs. We currently have a host of grand things on the cards so here's a quick splurge of info about it all:

Hi Black Dogs friends, family and colleagues,

It's been a while since we sent an email update around but I will be brief nonetheless. We have a few projects on the boil, some of which we are inviting contributions to and some of which you may or may not be interested to know we are up to. Others you may want to come along, or even buy!

1. Biggest news is that we have an exhibition coming up at Milton Keynes Gallery. It will be themed around the recent discovery of the inhabitable planet Gliese 581 g and plans to set up a Space Colony based on Milton Keynes on said planet. We want your stories, myths and information relating to MK as well as 'how to' cards for essential life-skills and survival tips for this new society that will then become part of the exhibition. Please see our website for more info.

2. We have just undertaken a short residency at Kurt Schwitters Merz Barn in Cumbria on kind invitation of Littoral. We breathed in some fresh country air, explored the landscape and make a fanzine publication about art's social responsibility and political potential, and many other things that Black Dogs attempts to discuss as a group.

3. On November 13th Black Dogs will have a stall at Footprint's Radical Zine fair at University of Leeds at which we hope to distribute the aforementioned Merz Barn publication 'The House that Black Dogs Built'. Footprint are fantastic and we're happy to be part of their 10th year celebrations. See http://www.footprinters.co.uk/ for more details.

4. We have contributed a double-page spread to French publication Nuke magazine. It will be published some time soon. If you live in France keep an eye out for it. If not you can look at the website here http://www.nuke.fr/NukeMagazine.html.

5. We have set up a shop section on the Black Dogs website so you can purchase our old publications and the recently released Audio Almanac. Please have a look as the sexy white 12" slabs of vinyl will make excellent stocking fillers. Again, see our website for details.

That's all for now, we look forward to receiving any contributions for the MK Gallery exhibition you may have and/or to see you at some of the forthcoming events.

best wishes

Luke on behalf of Black Dogs
